California Fundraising Re-Cap
From June 2 to June 14, the US directors of the Valpo Surf Project took their first west coast fundraising tour and conducted events in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The trip began with a tour of the LA surf shops to talk about the project and a fundraising event at the Gilberts’ in Hancock Park. After a few days, our fundraising tour led us up the coast in our borrowed Toyota Prius through Big Sur to Santa Cruz and San Francisco, where we spread the VSP word to more shops and had a guest-bartending event in SF’s Tonic Bar. Final Days in Chile
Here are a few long overdue photos from our final days together in Chile last May. Here we are after our guest talk given by our friends Conejo, Punto and Fullu from Pichilemu. The guys did a wonderful job describing the struggles of a coastal community after the big tsunami last spring, the benefits and hardships of being a young and upcoming professional surfer, and all the ocean has to offer to Chile’s youth.
