Thank You Liquid Dreams Surf Shop!!!

Posted on April 1, 2010

The support and passing of resources from family, friends, and businesses in the United States has been crucial to the success of the Valpo Surf Project. Liquid Dreams Surf Shop in Ogunquit and York Beach, Maine has played a pivotal role in the pilot program of the VSP.

My history with LDS owner, Mark Anastas, goes back to when I first started surfing in high school. Mark sold me my first surfboard and wetsuit. Almost every board and wetsuit I’ve owned since then have come from LDS. I’ve always relied on Mark’s expertise with boards and wetsuits and his advice hasn’t failed me yet.

When faced with the daunting task of finding wetsuits for thirty plus Chilean children Mark and LDS were the first things that came to mind. It had become a tradition for me to stop in at LDS on my way to and from Chile so it was no surprise to Mark I was returning to the Southern Hemisphere once again. After hearing our pitch, Mark committed to hooking us up with as many wetsuits as he could. Sure enough, I returned to LDS a few weeks later to find two massive tubs of wetsuits waiting for the VSP kids.

In large measure, thanks to Mark and Liquid Dreams’ generous wetsuit donation the Valpo Surf Project is headed to the beaches with a wetsuit for every kid. Mark – we can't thank you enough for all you’ve done and we look forward to seeing you this summer when we’re home for our 2010 fundraising season!
